Working with a family homestead in western Oregon, we designed and installed a multi-story food forest that integrates fruit and nut trees, nitrogen-fixing shrubs, perennial vegetables, and ground covers into a cohesive productive system.

The site had been a conventional lawn for decades. Our approach began with deep observation of the land — tracking water flow, sun angles, and existing soil life. We identified seven distinct ecological zones across the 2-acre property and matched plant communities to each one. Three years after installation, the system is producing food, building soil, and supporting a remarkable diversity of wildlife.
